1. I got an error message like "Window.Base, Version=3.0.0.0 (...) not found" during startup of Proxy Switcher.
Answer: This is an indication that the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is not installed. Download it here.
2. I got an error message like "Access denied (Exception from HRESULT 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))" during startup of Proxy Switcher or it shows the message "Error using Windows 7 Jumplist".
Answer: This is known problem with Windows 7 and API CodePack from Microsoft. It will hopefully be fixed in the future. The workaround is: In the properties window of the taskbar, go to the "Start Menu" tab and check both checkboxes in the privacy group.
3. How to switch proxies for dial-up connections in Internet Explorer 8?
Answer: Creating the proxy entry use the following naming schema:
Any name you like :: Exact_Dial-Up_Connection_Name
To determine the dial-up connection name, you can use the Internet Explorer->Internet Options and go to the "Connections" tab. Use the exact name of the corresponding connection.
If you from now on activate this proxy, it will be set on the dial-up connection and not on the LAN connection.
